space and feelings
you slipped your hands
under my shirt
“i want to feel you”
and i wanted to be felt
just one hour ago
with almost-tears
i heard your hardships
taking their toll
but now i taste desire
when you bite my lip
and i realize
we can at one time
be full of despair
and full of lust
space works differently
for things like feelings
and besides, we both have a need
to feel our skin
against each other
to know we’re not alone
togetherness is at one time
a cure for despair
and a quench for lust
so, eyes locked
bodies open
i pull you in
turn you
burn you
and then i earn you
until we ease off the ground
to wander the sky
content to be
you and me
